[Spambayes] Spamed?

The SpamBayes list does requires registration, is not moderated and is not
filtered.  No requirement for registration means that anyone can post
anything, including spammers.  This was done to make it easier for SpamBayes
users to post to the list, and it was felt that the requirement to register
would deter some users from posting questions that they otherwise might.  No
moderation means there is no one in charge who looks at messages  (a
time-consuming task) before they are distributed to the list.  No filtering
means that typical anti-spam filters are _not_ used so that people can post
interesting (or not so interesting) samples of spam that SpamBayes handled
in a particular way.

All this means that the SpamBayes list occasionally does have a spammer send
something to the posting address and it will be distributed.  This does not
mean that the SpamBayes list server is spamming.  Indeed, you would be hard
pressed to find a group of people more dedicated to keeping spam out of
people's inboxes.

I can't locate the message you mentioned on the list.  If you would be
willing to send me a copy with full headers off-line I would be happy to
look at it and see where it came from.  The easiest way to send something
with full headers is to send it as an attachment.  Just hitting the forward
button, depending on the mail client, often results in only the first few
header lines being included.
