Hart (ehart13169) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) >Summary: Won't work with Windows 7 and Office 2010 (both 64-bit) Initial Comment: I need some help...I installed SpamBayes 1.1a6, but cannot get it working. I have Windows 7 (64-bit) and Office 2010, but nothing I have found so far makes it work. Here's a summary of what I have tried and found so far: I looked for the log file, but did not find one. I also searched my hard drive for anything with SpamBayes in the name, but did not find any log files. I went into Outlook, to the COM Add-Ins section, and SpamBayes was not listed. I ran the outlook_addin_register.exe file in the SpamBayes/bin directory, then SpamBayes was in the COMS Add-Ins section and checked, but was still not loaded in Outlook 2010. I restarted Outlook, then checked the COM Add-Ins again. This time it was there but un-checked. When I selected it, at the bottom of the box it said ?Load Behavior: Not loaded. A runtime error occurred during the loading of the COM Add-in.? After I checked it, I tried restarting Outlook again, and it was again un-checked. I re-checked the box, then restarted Outlook again, but it still did the same thing. I verified that I am logged in as an administrator, and the SpamBayes folder is set to allow Full-Control. Just to make sure, I set it to allow Full-Control for everyone, but it did not make a difference. I checked the DEP settings, it is set to ?Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only? I also tried installing SpamBayes in C:\SpamBayes instead of the default folder, and then went through all of the above steps again, but it made no difference. Can anyone help me out with this? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Edward D. Hart (ehart13169) Date: 2013-02-12 10:17 Message: Yes, I tried installing it to C:\SpamBayes and to C:\Program Files\SpamBayes instead of the default location. None of that helped. I also searched for "Office 2010" and "Outlook 2010" in the support requests but didn't find anything that helped. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Skip Montanaro (montanaro) Date: 2013-02-12 10:15 Message: Have you tried specifying a non-default location? Check the spambayes at python.org mailing list archives. If a search finds nothing, ping me (skip at pobox.com) and I'll dredge up some other peoples' insights. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=498104&aid=3604326&group_id=61702 From noreply at sourceforge.net Fri Mar 15 14:28:10 2013 From: noreply at sourceforge.net (SourceForge.net) Date: Fri, 15 Mar 2013 06:28:10 -0700 Subject: [spambayes-bugs] [ spambayes-Bugs-3604751 ] SpamBayes not working on 64-bit Outlook Message-ID: <3ZS6zw1hG2zR4w@mail.python.org> Bugs item #3604751, was opened at 2013-02-14 13:20 Message generated for change (Comment added) made by ehart13169 You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=498103&aid=3604751&group_id=61702 Please note that this message will contain a full copy of the comment thread, including the initial issue submission, for this request, not just the latest update. Hart (ehart13169) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: SpamBayes not working on 64-bit Outlook Initial Comment: I installed SpamBayes 1.1a6 on my PC with Windows 7 64-bit and Office 2010 64-bit and have not been able to get it working. I have found quite a few instructions and tips from people that have made it work with Windows 7 64-bit and a 32-bit version of Outlook, but I have been unable to find anything that has made it work with the 64-bit version of Outlook. Has anyone been successful making it work with 64-bit Windows and 64-bit Outlook? Skip Montaro was working on it with me, but he said he needs some help from someone with experience in the Win64/Outlook64 environment. Anyone out there that can help with that? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Edward D. I'm afraid I don't use outlook any more, so I'm unable to help package or test anything at the moment. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Edward D.
