Initial Comment:
This patch has only been tested with a small standalone script.  The
goal was simply to improve the chances that ocrad would "see" text
in images which contain text.  I'm sure there's more that can be done.

There will be two attachments, the patch for ImageStripper.py and
the standalone Python/PIL script I used to test the idea (much
easier to tweak settings in that environment).
