Summary: Recurring Problem

Initial Comment:
I think I've tracked down at least one possible reason
for the hammie database to get corrupted.

Concerning the file:
spambayes.messageinfo.db

For some reason, I had two copies of the tray
application (SpamBayes for pop servers) in my start up
registry.

Until now, when I repaired the problem, everytime I
closed one of these extra copies of the application, the
hammie database became corrupted.

I haven't double tested this possibility, but noticed that
there is still very little information available in the FAQs
about why the database becomes corrupted. Mine has
been corrupted a total of four times (I get hundreds of
spam a day). Three of those times was in the last week.

I have the latest version.

Thanks,
Jason Silver

Concurrently accessing the database from two separate
processes is a known way to corrupt the database, yes.

You're right that the FAQ is out of date - I'll try and
update that later today.
