This is a bug in zscore. There is a misplaced parenthesis in the code.
This
return ((a - np.expand_dims(mns, axis=axis) /
np.expand_dims(sstd,axis=axis)))
should be this
return ((a - np.expand_dims(mns, axis=axis)) /
np.expand_dims(sstd,axis=axis))
