Your version of NumPy is old.  There were some issues with Matrix 
indexing that were fixed a while ago.  The current revision is 3352 (you 
are using revision 2880).   The 1.1 was a mis-nomer and was changed in 
August I belived.

The name for the most recent development version is

1.0.dev3359
