The loadmat module may get a great deal of use from us
matlab-switching types.  I had considered making unit tests of reads
from real matlab (4), 5, 6, 7, mat files of various complexities.  I
can offer lots of matlab versions and enthusiasm - is anyone out there
interested in helping me with this?
