Are you running scipy against numpy trunk?

np.histogram(rvs,histsupp,new=True)

I think this is a very recent change that will need adjustments.
However, it might be difficult to write code that works with numpy 1.3
and numpy 1.5, with or without "new" keyword. I need to check when the
default for np.histogram changed.
