[SciPy-Dev] datetime re-introduction?

Mea culpa: I stopped paying attention to the whole datetime removal
discussion when it got bogged down in debating the numbering of releases -
what was the conclusion vis-a-vis when/if datetime support will be
re-introduced?  Assuming it's when, not if, is it to have the same API (not
ABI) as in 1.4.0?  Thanks!
