I am more than happy to have them. I only have two concerns:

  1. Due care should be taken to enhance the current functionality
where it exists rather than creating duplicate functionality.

  2. For SciPy, I prefer more general code than domain-specific code.
If there is a choice between general statistical practice and
specifically econometrics, I'd prefer that we go with general
statistical practice. If there is some doubt, ask on the list, and I'm
sure that you'll get a variety of opinions.
