Since this thread has grown rather long, I'm going to risk 
being a bit repetitive.

1. reST tables *are* more limited, but nobody has yet
   illustrated with a table that would be

   - needed in the docs
   - incompatible with the reST tables

2. It would startle me if a patch to handle MoinMoin tables
   would be rejected by the reST developers
