[SciPy-dev] Docstrings patches

Hi All,

I submitted a patch in a ticket a few weeks ago that would add the flattop
window to signaltools.py as well as add some helpful docstrings.
I see that the window function was added but the docstring changes were not.

Was this intentional or accidental?

Is there some fundamental opposition to improving the docstrings so that
they help refer the user to other similar functions (i.e. See Also:
sections)?  I found this type of inline documentation invaluable when I was
learning Matlab.

I'd like to help improve things but I won't waste my time if the group is
not interested in this type of thing.
