[SciPy-dev] ACML FFT and new scipy

Hi,

has anyone tried to use the ACML (http://developer.amd.com/acml.aspx)
FFT routines from scipy?
(It seems that one has to extend fftpack for this)

In addition to LAPACK the ACML offers.
"fast scalar, vector, and array math transcendental library routines
 optimized for high performance on AMD Opteron processors."

Would it be possible that scipy ufuncs could make
use of them?
(Also Intels IMKL provides a Vector Math Library,
which seems to give significant speed-up:
