I created a couple of playlists for this (I'm not 100% sure that they are complete): for PyCon IT 2014 (PyCon Italia 5) https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLoVkZne_untb48D3BX8q-MvHTWidGq2yv for DjangoCon EU 2014 https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLoVkZne_untZcaNtgSHx9QfrT4nXdGe1K Also, I have data for some of them: - EuroPython 2015 - PyCon UK 2014 and 2015 - PyCon FR 2015 ( https://github.com/redapple/pyvideo-contrib/tree/master/pyconfr2015) that I need to clean up for the new schema before submitting PRs. I've noticed a bunch of new people subscribed to the list, but it's still intensely quiet. I'd love to know what's compelled people to join the list. Do you want to help with curating data? Do you have projects in mind to use the data for? Are you looking for people to work with on things that are important to you? Sheila and I would love to know so that we have a better feel for who's interested in what. I think the list is small enough that people could reply to the list. If you want to send to me directly, that's fine, too. willkg at bluesock.org Last month we decided to switch from Markdown to Restructured Text. Paul put together a PR with a script to convert the existing summaries and descriptions. The PR is here: https://github.com/pyvideo/pyvideo-data/pull/30 After that lands, we can convert summaries and descriptions and then move forward with that settled. Thank you, Paul! I've been thinking about how to get clive out of the pyvideo-data repository and turn it into a separate project. One of the things I'm grappling with is that we've defined the schema for the data in the clive code. So then I think we need to move the schema definition into the pyvideo-data repository and change clive so that it knows where to find it. I haven't figured out a way to do that which makes me happy. On a related note, I've been thinking more about switching from my schema representation to json-schema--something Paul suggested. Does anyone have experience with json-schema on this list? If you do, I'd love to talk with you about the format as well as the tools available. I think that's everything that's happened in the last month. Thank you everyone! /will From gtback at gmail.com Wed Apr 27 16:56:48 2016 From: gtback at gmail.com (Greg Back) Date: Wed, 27 Apr 2016 20:56:48 +0000 Subject: [pyvideo-data] Hello, everyone Message-ID: Hi, I just found this list today, after reading the latest status message (from March) linked to on pyvideo.org. I've always found pyvideo.org to be a great resource, and would love to help out however I can with pyvideo-data and whatever the next version of the site might become. I plan to look over the issues in the next few days and figure out specific things I can help with (if anyone has suggestions, I'm all ears). Pulling clive out into its own repo seems particularly fun/interesting. I don't have any experience with JSON-schema, but may be starting a project at work using it, so perhaps I'll be able to help there as well. Earlier today, I sent out an email soliciting help with figuring out whether we should switch to json schema: https://mail.python.org/pipermail/pyvideo-data/2016-April/000007.html Right now we have a home-grown solution which seems fine but has some issues we need to work out anyhow so it's a good time to think about whether to continue with that or switch to a different model. JSON Schema seems like a possibility. I don't know if there are other options out there for defining shape of JSON data so that we can document and also validate the data. Anyhow, I'd love to have some help with it.
