[Pythonmac-SIG] pythonw from Apache

I want to use Applescript in my python from Apache.  When I try it is 
obvious I need pythonw not python (need to access window server).  
However if I change #!/usr/bin/python to #!/usr/bin/pythonw it does not 
work.  Is this possible?
