Oh yes, on fink: I like the automatism in there, loading 
everything you need, it reminds me a lot of the SGI Irix 
installation system inst (I wouldn't be surprised if it was 
modelled after it).

But before fink is ready for prime time (and I mean mac-users 
primetime, not unix-users primetime) it'll have to be a whole 
lot more understandable. The terminology it uses is unclear, 
shortcuts are very strange (even by unix standards) and feedback 
is missing (very difficult to see what you selected to install, 
absolutely no feedback on what is going on during installation 
except the flashing messages which I would see more as "progress 
bar"). SGI inst (both in the commandline version and in the 
graphic version) are a lot clearer.
