Steve,

I too use Alpha and have been wishing for a Python mode but have
not had time to learn TCL enough to implement it myself. After 
looking at several other Alpha mode implementations it seems 
straightforward. If you get to it before I do I would love to try
it out. I'm unsure about the spawning of a macpython process though.
