You can see it in http://lakamarilla.no-ip.com/~martinp/pythoncad/ I think that it is ready to be published if you like it, so I have attached it to this email. Of course, it can be improved, and I accept every suggestion you make. It's a pleasure for me helping this project. Last month I was hoping to make a release in the middle of this month, and as everyone knows that didn't happen. I thought I'd have more time in the beginning of the month to wrap up the changes I want to make, but that turned out not the be the case. I found out that getting married and hosting the reception takes quite a bit more time than just showing up. :-) So, now that the big event is behind me I'll have more time to dedicate to finally making the next release. When the release rolls out I also want to make the changes to the website that some/many/most of you on the list have heard about and possibly seen. My target now is early December as the middle of the month is when my wife and I take our honeymoon, but if the release slips to after we return than that is what happens. Plans for what to do after this release are up in the air, but I do know I'm going to switch from hosting the code in Subversion to a decentralized SCM. The new SCM will almost certainly be Git, the SCM used for the Linux kernel and many other packages, but there is still a chance I could move to Mercurial. I'm much more comfortable with Git, though. During years I?ve worked with AutoCAD for AEC (architecture, enginering and construction) on Windows. I think to be a advanced AutoCAD user. I do 2D and 3D drawings, I have some actions stored in macros that I?ve created too. I?ve used others programs open source as OpenOffice, Gimp and Blender, but I?m not so advanced as AutoCAD. So I liked a lot this programs becouse they are good programs as the Microsot, Photoshop and Max. I know, it?s hard to change and currently I?ve started on Linux and researched about open source / free cad programs and found Pythoncad. I?ve been very happy becouse for me, due Python to be a interpretative language something writen in Python can work on Linux as Windows. Aswer me if I'm correct to tell this. Then I?ve downloaded PythonCAD, Python and the programs required (GTK, etc..) but I didn?t do Pythoncad work. How can I do Pythoncad work? Can you help me or send my ask to right place? So, that?s all at moment. Sorry again if this subjetc is not correct and redirect me for a right place. Thanks S?rgio Adriano Bizello Tecgo. I don't know how many people using Windows have downloaded and installed PythonCAD, but I do know that lately I haven't heard from windows users trying to improve the program. > Then I?ve downloaded PythonCAD, Python and the programs required > (GTK, etc..) but I didn?t do Pythoncad work. If you are running on Linux, installing PythonCAD can be done by installing the source package or installing an RPM package or '.deb' if you use Debian. Installation instructions are on the main page of the PythonCAD website http://www.pythoncad.org/ > How can I do Pythoncad work? Can you help me or send my ask to right place? Once the installation is complete, PythonCAD is started when you run the 'gtkpycad.py' script: $ gtkpycad.py If the installation worked without problem then the drawing window should pop up and you can start playing with the program. > So, that?s all at moment.
