Thanks Sid - I've merged this branch into the trunk, along with a number of
changes I made and those from Steve Yin.  This work, along with the
excellent ongoing x64 work by Roger Upole on the trunk means that I'm happy
to declare that branch "dead", and that given enough magic, an x64 build
from the trunk is now amazingly functional!
