This is done because Jannis Leidel will be in the Netherlands during that week, he'll actually join the Maykin team for a couple of days. Jannis is one of Django's core developers and also all around geek that is quicker in forking your codebase than you are in creating a new repo ;) I've invited him to give a talk, which he would love to do and I think this will be interesting enough to reschedule the Django meetup. See you all in the new year! See: http://lanyrd.com/2010/amsterdamjs-x-mas-special/ and http://groups.google.com/group/amsterdam-js/browse_thread/thread/133ad54d578a7073. This meeting will also be joined by a number of Amsterdam.rb guys, so it would be fun to join in with some python people. And also: - Tuesday december 14th: Wikileaks debate @ de Waag from 16:00 till 18:00. See: http://events.waag.org/theatrum/wikileaks-debat/ - Thursday december 16th: Internet and rights symposium @ Felix Meritis from 13:00 till 18:00. See: http://www.internetscriptieprijs.nl/symposium.html Hope to see you at one of these events. > $ easy_install pil > Searching for pil > Reading http://pypi.python.org/simple/pil/ > Reading http://www.pythonware.com/products/pil > Reading http://effbot.org/zone/pil-changes-115.htm > Reading http://effbot.org/downloads/#Imaging > Best match: PIL 1.1.7 > Downloading http://effbot.org/media/downloads/PIL-1.1.7.tar.gz > Processing PIL-1.1.7.tar.gz > Running PIL-1.1.7/setup.py -q bdist_egg --dist-dir /var/folders/8k/8kMnR8La2RaKoE+BYusq3++++TI/-Tmp-/easy_install-I0yCK7/PIL-1.1.7/egg-dist-tmp-lZu4V0 > Traceback (most recent call last): > File "/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.6/bin/easy_install", line 8, in > load_entry_point('setuptools==0.6c11', 'console_scripts', 'easy_install')() > (...) > ImportError: has no 'check_packages' attribute distribute 0.6.3 is oud; je kan eens 'sudo easy_install-2.6 -U distribute' proberen. .F
