This is a short compilation of common questions we anticipate you might
want to ask as the community’s elections day draws nearer. If we missed
something, please see item #7.

==================================================================

1. What are the eligibility criteria for nominees?

2. Who are the current board members?

3. Can current and or former board members be nominated again?

4. What is the length of service?

5. What is the Job Description?

6. Is there a Constitution, and where can I find it?

7. I have more questions.

==================================================================

1. What are the eligibility criteria for nominees?

The only criterium is that a nominee must be an active member of the
community either via the mailing list, Slack channel or both. Being
“active” means they actively use or participate in the community’s Slack
forum conversations or mailing list discussions.

Do note that board membership is unpaid.

2. Who are the current board members?

The current governing council of the community, which was setup on May 21,
2016, is comprised of the following members (Slack handles shown) of the
community:

President

Nwachukwu Chukwudi (@ichux)

Vice President

Aisha Bello (@aishab)

Treasurer

Hamdalah Bimpe Adetunji (@geekhijabi)

Secretary

Tosin Animashaun (@acetakwas)

IT Director

Abiola Oyeniyi (@b33sama)

Other Board Members:

Osas Omigie (@oxax)

Eyitemi Egbejule (@insaida)

Tomiwa Orolu (@tmdoubleu)

Advisory Members:

Tim Akinbo (@takinbo)

Edward Popoola (@edwardpopoola)

Olabayo (@olabayo96)

3. Can current and or former board members be nominated again?

Both current and former board members may nominate themselves or be
nominated by others again, for re-election. However, the founding members
who registered the community as a non profit with CAC will remain on the
board as passive members on an advisory role.

4. What is the length of service?

The officers will have a 1-year tenure.

5. What is the Job Description?

Each office has a defined role or set of responsibilities. However, the
responsibilities highlighted below (See Board Member Responsibilities) is a
guide, and sometimes other members of the board find themselves performing
other responsibilities.

6. Is there a Constitution, and where can I find it?

The constitution of Python Nigeria can be accessed at
http://pythonnigeria.org/constitution/

7. I have more questions.

Got another question? Think we missed something? Do reach out to any of the
Slack handles of current members listed above (See #2) or use the Slack
#jobs_and_events channel. Alternatively, you could or send the board an
email on pynigeria at python.org

but sending out general communications to the public, and responding to

management is done with the community account.
