what is \s+ and \S+ means in re.compile?

From the docs:
\s
Matches any whitespace character; this is equivalent to the set [
\t\n\r\f\v].
\S
Matches any non-whitespace character; this is equivalent to the set [^
\t\n\r\f\v].
