IDLE - adjust fonts in KDE?

Thank you very much for your help.
I was able to solve the problem by creating a new file,
$HOME/.idle
and putting the following lines into it:
[EditorWindow]
font-name= courier
font-size= 14

Your help gave me the pointer I needed.
