OverflowError: math range error ???

about math functions ' behaviour in Python, does it mean that i had reach
sone kind
of max or min for my log ?

Is there a way to fix this ? Does NumPy now (the thread is 2000-10-11)  fix
this kind
 of behaviour ? Where could i find more info ?

(i'm really annoyed and hope that python won't let me down...)
