Hey, thanks very much ! This looks very much like what I was asking for !
I hope the example included is enough documentation :)
(at least it works...)

This proves again what a strange, incredible beast Python (or rather, the 
python community) is... everything (almost) exists, but a great lot of it 
is mightily hard to come by (unless you already know its existence _and_ 
its name in the first place :-).
