Sybase module crashes (segfault)

Looks like I will have to do some investigation.  If there is a way to
avoid the segfault, I should fix the module.

I have changed jobs (have just started a business with a friend), and
do not have a Sybase environment set up yet.  In the next week or so,
I should be ready to look at that code again.
