tkinter for tk8.3?

Hello!

I am a newcomer to python but have been programming tcl/tk for some
time. I would like to use some of the newer features of tk8.3,
however, I noticed that the compiled distribution of python only
specifices tk8.0. Before I attempt to rebuild with the latest tk
version, I would like to know if there are any "gotcha's" that would
make this impossible/difficult to do.
