The service mark registration is for: "information services, namely,
providing computer programs, news, links, and documentation relating to
an object-oriented computer programming language and its development
environment." This sounds a lot like a service mark for python.org,
which makes sense given CNRI's stated intent to keep control of
python.org.

I wonder if python-list at cwi.nl would constitute the first use of Python
for an information service. It certainly predates python.org, and it
was used to provide programs, news, links, and documentation. Was
there a Web site at CWI when Guido worked there?
