All I really wanted to know about Python threads is confirmation on how they
work (deep inside the interpreter. I'll post the question after I post this.

Actually, if negative thread IDs are used to indicate error it might only be
half that, ie:
2^31-1 (or perhaps I should write 2**31-1). No big deal.
