Stripping new lines from strings?

Whoops, so it does. *grins* I'm having a little too much fun trying to sort out

the 'features'  of wxPython.ogl (The old joke. If something unexpected happens
in one release, it's a glitch, if it happens in two releases, it's a bug, if it

happens in three, it's a feature.). I tend to forget about the more ordinary
modules.
