Tkinter menu refresh question

I am using the Tkinter Menu object, but after a click on a cascade
level, the cascade level will not show up again until I force the whole
window to repaint (I am working in linux but I am exporting the window
to NT so by minimizing the window I can get the menu to show up
again).  Is there a way that I can fix this problem?
