Table widget - I need a very fast one...

Hi all!

Does anyone know a table widget which can handle 4000-5000 entries fast?
Fast means that displaying, sorting, filtering etc. did not take any
longer than about a second.

I am using Tkinter and tried to implement a table of my own but its
(much) to slow.

Are there any extensions with ready to use table widgets? Whats about
Tix? Unfortunately I can't reach the Tix-Website ... (http://www.xpi.com
is dead)
