newbie: python with mac web server?

Hi folks,

I am an initiate to Python, and have had some very
encouraging success with coding standalone tools
(mainly text munging).

But the reason I am interested in Python is as a
middleware web server programming language. My OS
of choice is MacOS, and I have a simple website set
up from my house on my DSL line. I would love to be
able to use Python to code dynamic web pages for
this grassroots setup.

Can anyone comment? Is this possible? Has anyone
done it?
