undefined symbol: ber_pvt_opt_on

Hi Michael,

Thanks for your help.  I ended up dropping my old Ubuntu install and
rebuilt.  I got it working just fine now.

It was some sort of library problem as you indicated I am sure.  But I never
seem to be able to figure out stuff like that :)
