Sigo con problemas con modulos gtk y pygtk

Si mal no recuerdo, tu script empieza con 
#!/usr/bin/env python

¿No tendrás otro python en alguna parte del path?
¿Qué te responde un
 which python
en la terminal?

Otra. ¿No tendrás un site.py o algo parecido por ahí?
