If a keyword is added to the raise syntax for specifying a
traceback, the same thing should probably be done for catching
it as well, e.g.

  try:
    ...
  except SomeError traceback tb:
    ...

and then the above problem would go away:

    try:
        <some indexing operation>
    except KeyError, IndexError traceback tb:
        <error handling>
