It's important that our community see the work that we're doing to support Python. The reports that are submitted are added to the minutes of the last meeting of each month. All board members and staff members are asked to do the same thing. Please take a few moments to put together a short paragraph and send it to me no later than Wednesday, September 28th. AFAIK, we have SciPy conference lined up, probably other events as well by now. The original goal was to have Python events in Cuba. I think we've achieved that. This isn't the organizers list for the nitty gritty organizing of said events. Maybe the idea of monthly WG reports is unnecessary in our case? Should we close the WG and just keep it around as a part of the PSF historical record? It would be best if the group took a vote so that it's on the record. RESOLVED, that the Python Software Foundation's Cuban Pythonistas Working Group be retired [or something like that]. As long as you're not finding reporting duties getting in the way of other work. I know we said we could rotate reporting but I'm not close to the action so have nothing new every month. Down the road a ways, when we can look back on many completed events, might be the better time to close off this list, I agree. It could stick around as public / read-only. "Yay we did it" could be the epitaph. In any case, lets pause and pop some champagne or whatever, job well done (not taking credit myself, I'm mostly just a spectator in Cubo de Cuba :-D). http://www.wweek.com/portland/article-21240-restaurant-review-el-cubo-de-cuba.html Kirby PS: I'm very concerned about Puerto Rico which was supposed to vote again this year (on statehood) but is now being run by some iron-fisted bankers somewhere (who knows where anymore). Our internet connectivity is usually so scarce I'm sure it's rough for people in Cuba to keep up with monthly reports. For example, if anyone from this list happens to be connected to SNET, I'd like to use the list to say that we have a PyPi mirror available through https://pypi.netlab.snet if you're using our DNS. Just in case, our current DNS address is 192.168.32.4: it might change in the near future, we'd always do an announcement at our forum (https://forum.netlab.snet). We have also other resources for developers available, so if anyone happens to be on SNET, make sure to check them out. Regards.
