I have yet to see anyone reach a level high enough to support themselves.
The people that I have seen use these approaches and make a living are
bloggers that also sell advertising and merchandise.

I've talked to the PSF about this and it isn't a lack of desire, it's a
lack of funds. The PSF wants to have at least a couple of years worth of
salary in the bank before taking on any employee and I suspect the salary
that would be required isn't a small sum.
