Hey, I resemble that remark...

OK, I only read NEWS diffs rather than the whole thing at once, and I
usually skip over svnmerge checkins, and some of the more esoteric
checkins I just skim... so not quite nuts yet ;)

Agreed that the policy of "Add stuff, but don't edit it too much" is a
sound one. We've certainly missed moderately significant things in the
past by not doing that.*
