It's not so much about forgetting it, but of not caring. It's more work:
it requires a 2.6 checkout, it requires mastership of svnmerge, you have
to run the tests twice. So some people won't port across the branches,
regardless of what the setup is. If 2.7 is to be released a year from
now, it may not even be worth it.
