That line on its own will cause an IndentationError, which is a subclass of SyntaxError.  However, out of context, without the full traceback, and without a description of your environment, the only thing I have to go on here is the fact that the vast majority of syntax errors are problems in user code, not Python itself.  This is not a forum for getting help with your own program, but you can try out discuss.python.org or the python-list at python.org mailing list for that.
