You have pyreadline installed, a 3rd party module that takes over reading from the console. Try disabling it temporarily by deleting "E:\Python27\lib\site-packages\readline.pyc" and renaming "E:\Python27\lib\site-packages\readline.py" to "readline.py.bak".
