I have not modified anything related to python on my opensuse install, i have only grabbed the latest tarball, compiled and installed.

Here is the result with python 3.3.0 beta 2
./configure
make
(sudo make install) > log

I am observing the same outputs:
$ /usr/local/bin/python3.3
Could not find platform dependent libraries <exec_prefix>
Consider setting $PYTHONHOME to <prefix>[:<exec_prefix>]
