Initial Comment:
When sourcefiles are passed in as unicodestrings, distutils.dir_utils.
mkpath will throw a DistutilsInternalError, as shown in the example 
attached.

Using:
Python 2.4 (#1, Feb 12 2005, 20:12:07) 
2.6.9-gentoo-r9 GNU/Linux
