Summary: idle -n crashes

Initial Comment:
[forwarded from http://bugs.debian.org/272796]

$ idle -n
(Tk window appears)
(Some traceback in red?)
(Tk window disappears)

screenshot appended.

bug submitter writes that idle -n in Windows works (not
sure, if he tested 2.3.x or 2.4).

idle from 2.4a0 works ok.

PyShell rev 1.81.4.4
Bug exhibits in release23-maint only.
Debian is using unreleased code from CVS, I neglected
testing for -n switch when I checked in 1.81.4.3
