Summary: Windows binary missing IPv6 support
Initial Comment:
The Windows binary build from www.python.org appears
to be missing IPv6 support.
The IP configuration in my Windows XP + Service Pack
1:
C:\Documents and Settings\zolty>ipconfig

Here's an example of a socket with ipv6 protocol/family:
