Summary: use python if not pass test format??
Initial Comment:
I have built pythin 2.2.1 on my Tru64 4.0F AlphapServer. It builds OK, but does not pass test_format.
>From previous posts, I found that the libc on Tru64 is broken (not ansi compliant), and that is the reason
the test fails.
I have a user in need on python today. Is it safe to use the python binary, even though the test_format
failed?

Yes, it is safe to use Python in this case; the failed test
indeed indicates a problem in the system's C library.
