Summary: SHA 256/384/512 in Python 2.2

Initial Comment:
I know that Python 2.2. window is closing, but this
request seems to be very simple and low cost.

What about updating the SHA module to the new
SHA-256/384/512 standards?.

See, for example:

Unless somebody is forthcoming RSN with a patch to Python, I
don't think the sha module can be extended before 2.2.
Notice that the last beta of 2.2 is scheduled for this week.
