Summary: SyntaxError tracebacks omit filename
Initial Comment:
In Python 2.2, SyntaxError tracebacks no longer show
the last filename, ie. the file where the crash
actually occurred. This is really annoying. Here's
an example:
$ cat foo.py
foo =
$ python2.1 foo.py
File "foo.py", line 1
foo =
^
SyntaxError: invalid syntax
$ python2.2 foo.py
File "<string>", line 1
foo =
^
SyntaxError: invalid syntax
