I know this has been discussed many times before and I know that
Guido is against the change. But I'll just add (again) that /
requiring/ C++ to build Python will cause some of us pain. Our
highly embedded/extended app has to twist and turn in order to link
against one external C++ library that really has no need being C++.
It's manageable on Windows and Linux, but some platforms (e.g. starts
with "so" and ends with "is") are really quite painful.
